We use 100% soy wax, which is a natural wax made from US grown soy beans. Soy wax is a clean wax and burns without soot or toxins. It burns at a lower temperature which makes your candle last longer, and smells good even when you blow it out.
Paraffin wax is what large candle companies use and is a by-product of petroleum (the same you fuel your car with). Paraffin wax burns hotter, puts out more black soot and detracts from your air quality over time.
We are committed to high quality and clean burning products, and will always use 100% soy wax without additives!
All of our ingredients are thoughtfully sourced to create safe products that are good for your home and the environment. All of our products are vegan, phthalate free, paraben free, and never tested on animals. Each product page includes a complete list of ingredients.
We use a premium blend of essential oils and man-made fine fragrance oils. Some essential oils are toxic to pets when burned at high concentrations, but blending with fragrance oil helps ensure a safe air quality for all. This is why we don't use 100% essential oils to scent our candles. Every scent we use is toxin free, phthalate free, paraben free and never tested on animals.
We follow all of the guidelines set by the International Fragrance Association (IFRA). The IFRA Standards are globally accepted guidelines for the safe use of fragrance ingredients.
By trimming your candle wick in between burns, this allows the candle to burn more evenly and for longer. When the wick is too long, the flame is larger and this causes your candle to burn more quickly.
We are committed to providing high quality and clean products and take product safety very seriously. We only produce items that we'd personally use in our homes and gift to loved ones. Like all household products, we recommend keeping out of reach of children and pets and only using as directed.
Not yet, but we're looking into how to make this an option in the future! For now we would recommend recycling your used candle jar or repurposing it around your home.

Yes! In our humble opinion, Olive Roots products make perfect gifts for any occasion. For many of our products you can choose to include a gift box and card with a personalized note. If your product does not give you this option, please write your personalized message in the notes to seller section during check-out. None of our orders include an invoice, so gift recipients will not see the price of the order.
We typically process orders within 3-5 business days. Depending on the shipping method you select, most packages arrive within 2-5 days after we drop them off at the carrier. All shipping orders will receive tracking information.
If you are not 100% satisfied with your purchase, we want to make it right! To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. Please email us at email@example.com within 7 days of your purchase to request a return. Olive Roots is not responsible for shipping charges, and you will be responsible for paying your own shipping costs to return your item.
